Stephen brings more than four decades of experience across property management, development, and long-term real estate stewardship.

Following college, Stephen joined his father and brother at The Barnes Companies, a family-owned real estate platform focused on multifamily management and operations. Morphing through various partnerships over the next decade, the firm later merged with Alpha Management to form Alpha Barnes Real Estate Services, where Stephen played a key leadership role in scaling the organization. Under the Alpha Barnes platform, the company grew to more than 30,000 apartment units under management, serving a diverse portfolio across market-rate and affordable housing. In 2020, the company was successfully sold, marking the culmination of a multi-decade growth and value-creation journey.

In parallel with his management career, Stephen has been deeply involved in multifamily development. He has helped develop more than 3,500 apartment units, utilizing Low-Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC) alongside conventional financing structures. Stephen's career and life reflect his unparalleled energy and positivity, his calling to serve others, and his consistent discipline to create value in anything he's doing.

John is a finance and real estate professional with experience in development, asset management, and investment banking. Early in his career, he worked at Alpha Barnes Real Estate Services where he developed more than $100 million in Class A housing and supported operational initiatives across a large multifamily portfolio.

John later joined Morgan Stanley’s M&A Group where he supported execution on both buyside and sellside transactions across multiple industries. In addition to his deal responsibilities, he served internally as the staffer for the firm’s summer MBA associate program.

John’s work is driven by a conviction that real estate, when well-designed and diligently managed, can meaningfully shape the human experience in a positive way. He is especially committed to creating thoughtful, enduring developments and operating housing that serves residents well and strengthens communities.
